Full Description:
This beach house is a charming property situated quite literally on the beach at the delightfully low-key resort of Le Racou, just south of Argelès. There are a number of properties on the beach here, and this one is in the second row back from the seafront itself and, although just a footstep away from the sea, is thus quieter and more private than those right on the front. Le Racou has everything you might need from a beach holiday. A long sandy beach, good snorkelling rocks at one end, a yachting port at the other buzzing with restaurants and cafes. There are some small shops not far from the house and a few relaxed beach style restaurants within easy reach. Collioure, the beautiful port patronised by artists for century’s lies just south of the beach.
The beach house is only about 15 meters from the beach itself with direct access from the house to the beach. It comprises a main open-plan living area with separate kitchen, bathroom and children’s' bedroom (containing bunk beds), while the main sleeping area is on a mezzanine above the lounge. Outside is a timber decked terrace and seating area running the full width of the house and giving directly onto the sand. The main eating area outside is by the kitchen window and benefits a sea view. An excellent, fun and safe holiday home for a young family.
Le Racou is between Argelès Port (pleasure boats and yachts) and Collioure (beautiful, famous fishing village, the St. Tropez of the area). There are restaurants, cafes and small shops behind the beach and many more can be found in Collioure and Argelès. Le Racou is very near the Spanish border and it is easy to make short day trips over the border. You may also want to explore more of the area this side of the border. Not far away you have Céret, Cathar Castles, Pyrenean Mountains and vineyards.
